ABOUT GERRY ASTORINO

My wife Joan and I have been Lakeway residents since 1994. We have two grown children and two grandchildren.

My qualifications include:

Elected to Lakeway City Council in 1998 and 2000. Served as Mayor Pro-Tem 2001-2002. Served on Lakeway Zoning and Planning Commission 1997-1998.

Retired from U. S. Navy 1982 with rank of Commander following 24 years of service in a variety of ships and shore stations, including three command assignments.

Following Navy retirement, served in executive positions with two nation-wide electronic security companies in the Washington D.C. area. Retired in 1992 as Division President responsible for 900 employees and $30 million in revenues.

Academic Experience: Chair of Tactics Department (including leadership and management instruction) at the U. S. Naval Academy, 1972-74; taught leadership, management, and organizational behavior at Villanova, George Mason, and Texas A. and M. Extension Service.

Education: BS from Maine Maritime Academy, 1958; BA from Naval Post-Graduate School, Monterey CA; Diploma from NATO College, Rome, in European economics; Master of Education from Boston University.
